CALCULATE YOUR FAT BURNING ZONE



Your fat burning zone is where your heart rate needs to be in order to maximise your body burning fat. It is between 60% and 70% of your maximum heart rate.



It is different for men and women but there is a basic formula you can follow.

Subtract your age from 220 (for men) and 226 ( for women)= maximum heart rate

Maximum heart rate x 60/100 = fat burning zone. Do the same formula but times the maximum heart rate by 70% this will give you the range of the fat burning zone.



So a female aged 26 has a maximum heart rate of 200bpm (beats per minute).

 For her to burn fat she needs to be between 120-140bpm.
